What we collect, why we need it, who else sees it and how to have it deleted. We have tried to write this the way we would explain it to you in person.

Last updated 1 August 2026

1The short version

We collect what we need to get food to your door and nothing else. We never sell your data. We never see your card or UPI details. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will — except the invoice records tax law requires us to keep.

The rest of this page spells that out properly: exactly what we hold, why, and who else touches it.

2What we collect

When you order:

  • Your name, phone number and delivery address.
  • Your email address, if you give us one.
  • What you ordered, when, and what you paid.
  • Your pincode — used to check whether we can deliver to you, even before you order.

When you sign in: your phone number, and the fact that you successfully entered the one-time password we sent to it. We do not store the OTP itself after it is used.

When you simply browse: the pages you look at, roughly where you are (city level), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is standard analytics — see the cookies section below.

What we never collect: your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or netbanking password. Those go directly to Razorpay and never reach our servers. We could not leak them if we tried, because we never have them.

3Why we hold it

  • To deliver your order — the address and phone number go to whoever is actually bringing it to you.
  • To let you sign in and see your own order history.
  • To send you your invoice and order updates on WhatsApp.
  • To answer you when you message us about an order.
  • To meet our legal obligations — GST invoices and sales records have to be kept, by law, whether we want to or not.
  • To understand what is and is not working on the site, in aggregate — which pages people read, where they give up. This is about the site, not about you personally.

We do not build advertising profiles of you, and we do not use your order history to decide what to charge you.

4Who else touches it

We are a small farm and we use other companies to do the things we cannot do ourselves. Each of them gets only the piece they need:

WhoWhat they get, and why
RazorpayYour payment details, directly from you. They process the payment; we only ever see whether it succeeded and a reference number.
MSG91Your phone number, to send the one-time password that signs you in.
WhatsApp (Meta)Your phone number and order details, to send your invoice and order updates.
Courier partnersYour name, address and phone number, for out-of-Hyderabad deliveries only.
Google Analytics, via Google Tag ManagerAnonymous usage data — pages viewed, device, approximate location. Not your name, address or phone number.
MongoDB Atlas, Google Cloud, VercelThey host our database and our site. Your data sits on their infrastructure.
CloudinaryServes our product photographs. It handles images, not customer data.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anybody, for any amount, ever. Nobody on the list above is paying us for your data — we are paying them for a service.

We will also disclose information if a court, tax authority or the law genuinely requires it. That is the only other case.

5Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage in your browser:

  • Necessary ones — to keep you signed in, remember your basket and remember your delivery pincode. Without these the site cannot work.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, so we can see which pages are useful and which are not.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones, your basket and sign-in will stop working — that is a limitation of how browsers work, not a choice we made.

6How long we keep it

  • Order and invoice records — for as long as Indian tax law requires us to keep them. This is not our choice and we cannot delete them on request.
  • Your account, addresses and saved details — until you ask us to delete them, or until the account has been dormant for a long time.
  • Analytics data — retained by Google under their own retention settings, in aggregate.
  • WhatsApp conversations — kept while they are useful for supporting you, then cleared.

7Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you what we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong — you can also edit your own details in your account.
  • Delete your account and personal details.
  • Stop sending you marketing messages, while still getting the ones about orders you have actually placed.

The one thing we cannot delete is the invoice record of an order you placed — a GST invoice is a legal document and we are required to retain it. We can delete everything else, and we will tell you plainly what was kept and why.

Just message us. We will action it within 30 days and there is no charge.

8How we protect it

The site runs over HTTPS. Payment details never reach us. Access to the admin system that holds customer data is limited to the people who run the farm, and it is behind a password.

No system is perfectly secure and we are not going to claim otherwise. If we ever discover a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority — we will not quietly sit on it.

9Questions, or a complaint

If you want your data, want it corrected, want it gone, or think we have handled it badly, contact us:

  • WhatsApp or phone: +91 75693 22984
  • Email: ramacountryfarm@gmail.com
  • Post: Rama Country Farm, Suraram Colony, Dayanand Nagar, Jeedimetla, Hyderabad 500055, Telangana

A real person will read it and reply. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you are entitled to escalate it to the relevant data protection authority in India.

10Children

This site is not intended for children, and you must be 18 or over to place an order. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

11Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information — a new service, a new kind of data — we update this page and change the date at the top. For a change that materially affects you, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.

Something here unclear, or you think we got it wrong? Tell us — we would rather fix the policy than argue about it.
